A Refreshing & Relaxing Day-Trip
Adventure off the beaten tourist track and experience one of the most unique natural wonders in Thailand. Situated some 40 kilometres from downtown Chiang Mai, Bua Thong is a stunning limestone waterfall. Also known as “The Sticky Waterfall”, it is formed by minerals, which enables you to climb without slipping.
Bua Thong Waterfall is 100 meters and has three levels. Each of them is a great place to sit down and enjoy the surrounding nature. The rocks are creamy, almost white and they are a wonderful contrast
to the green trees. The lime also makes the water crystal blue and, even if there is no place to swim, it is refreshing to get your legs wet and cool off.
Next to the waterfall there is a short hike to “Nam Phu Chet Si” which literally means seven colors fountain. It is a mineral geyser that gushes from the ground and flows into streams. This beautiful
natural scenery combined with very few visitors make this a peaceful and tranquil place to relax.
The road to Bua Thong Waterfall, once off the highway, passes through small villages and picturesque rice fields. Thai style restaurants are located in the parking area off the waterfall and you can also
stop on the way and discover local food in the villages.
